    California Department of Transportation Journal

To put a widely accessible face on the myriad activities of Caltrans, the Journal was published bimonthly for department employees. Its features provide an intimate perspective on achievements and initiatives, while highlighting topical insights on people and places. Wallrich Landi strove to create a sense of unity through consistent application of headers, feature typography and image treatments, while creating interest through dramatic scale.

Using bright colors and a fresh approach to layout and graphics, CityNews presents news and information for employees, and provides a forum to recognize and celebrate the achievements of workforce individuals and teams.

  • City of Sacramento Legislative Platform

    City of Sacramento Legislative Platform

This City Legislative Platform, intended to influence action among lawmakers at the State and Federal levels, was a first-ever production. A smart image- and color-coding system keeps all 41 issue-related inserts straight, and logically sorts them as State or Federal concerns.

In 2005, Wallrich Landi developed the Department of Water Resource’s Division of Planning and Local Assistance Surface Storage Progress Report. Girl Scouts Heart of Central California Events! catalog

The Girl Scouts Heart of Central California chapter wanted to create a more contiguous, compelling catalog of events for their girls that resulted in a longer shelf life and extended usability. Wallrich Landi rolled up their creative sleeves and jumped into a 14-year old mindset to create a design that balances energetic graphics with logical wayfinding solutions.

Girl Scouts, Heart of Central California Hear & Now magazine

In 2007, Wallrich Landi was hired to produce three issues of Hear & Now. The publication targeted girls, ages 5-17 with varied interests and levels of engagement, and introduced a key challenge of streamlining editorial design for more consistent type styles and layout grid, allowing for individual treatment of heads and artwork. We followed design concepts from Girl Scout interns, making sure any modifications reflected the overall spirit they conveyed.

  • Hill Physicians Annual Report

    Hill Physicians Annual Report

Hill Physicians, an Independent Physician Association, employs more than 3,000 healthcare providers who deliver care to over 350,000 members. Hill Physicians asked for an annual report that focused on the group’s progressive initiatives to prevent illness, improve patient care and introduce ground-breaking technology into medical practice. Wallrich Landi developed the “Way Beyond Vitals” concept and a clean, contemporary design to capture this message.

  • River City Bank Annual Report

    River City Bank Annual Report

River City Bank ranks in size among the top 10 percent of banks in the U.S. Nonetheless, its most compelling story is what we dubbed “the art of community banking” — the sense of personal connection they strive for with every customer, and the unsurpassed service extended to all. The bank’s 2006 annual report features a half dozen bank customers who, in their own words, tell stories of the extraordinary personal service they’ve experienced in the Bank.

  • SMUD Annual Report

    SMUD Annual Report

When awarding its annual report, SMUD specifically requested a more lively and engaging design than previous years’. Consequently, we used a vibrant color palette, action photographs, factoids, sidebars and custom graphics all contained in a tight grid. Placing high-contrast elements side-by-side within the design made the content pop. Garnering praise from the entire SMUD organization, it was also recognized by the IABC Sacramento Crystal Awards.
